FAQS
WHAT IS PERMANENT MAKEUP?
Permanent makeup is a cosmetic tattooing procedure that is done to resemble makeup, such as eyeliner, lip tint and other permanent enhancing colors to the skin, of the face, and eyelids. It is also used to produce artificial eyebrows, particularly in people who have lost them as a consequence of old age, genetics, stress, Chemotherapy or diseases such as alopecia. Many clients also look to PMU as an option to disguise scars and discoloration spots in the skin.
WHAT TYPICALLYÂ HAPPENS DURING A PMU APPOINTMENT?
We start with a consultation to help us have a better understanding of our client's wants and needs before we customize and color match the client's natural look. IBC offers primary and secondary numbing which the first application will take place prior to mapping and again after the first pass and throughout the procedure to help keep our client's comfortable.
At the end of each appointment, out clients are home with an after care kit that contains clear instructions and After Ink.
Each procedure comes with a follow-up/ Touch Up appointment that is scheduled 6-10 weeks out.

WHAT CAN CLIENTS EXPECT RIGHT AFTER THE PROCEDURE?
The recovery process is different for everyone and also depends your skin. Depending on the procedure, some clients will experience more redness and or swelling for a day or two while others may only experience redness and discomfort for a couple hours after the procedure. All cosmetic tattoo procedures will be the darkest during the first couple of days. Once healed, the finish look will be 20%- 30% lighter.

Eyeliner procedures, most clients can expect to be a little puffy for several hours following their procedure. I send each client home with a after care kit and instructions. This procedure comes with a 10 week follow up visit.

Eyebrow procedures have the least amount of swelling. Clients can expect a little redness for the first day or so. I send each client home with an aftercare kit and instructions. This procedure comes with a 10 week touch up visit, during this time, we can go darker if the client prefers.

HOW LONG DOES IT TAKE TO HEAL?
Not all tattoos are created equal, neither are the methods required to heal them properly. On average, it takes about 3 months for the human skin to completely restore itself after being tattooed and about 3-4 weeks for the pigment to fully set to it's final color.
Aftercare is the other 50% of the work it takes to obtain the best version of your tattoo. I send my clients home with a complimentary aftercare kit with each procedure to help with the healing process.
HOW LONG UNTIL I WILL NEED A TOUCH UP?
While cosmetic make up will never washes off entirely, it will usually fade over time as skin cells are constantly being replaced. This process varies per individual. On average these procedures can last anywhere from one to five years per treatment.
HOW PAINFUL ARE THE PROCEDURES?
Beauty doesn't always have to be painful! Here at IBC, we use a double numbing process to ensure that our clients are comfortable during the whole procedure. Primary anesthetic is applied during the prepping stages. This takes 30 min to take affect.
Secondary anesthetic is applied once we have finished with your first pass- it will have no effect if it is applied to the unbroken skin surface. This anesthetic works very quickly- taking effect within minutes.
TATTOO LIGHTENING & REMOVAL
We currently only offer Saline tattoo removal using a saline solution called Li-FT by Li Pigments.

Li-FT Saline Tattoo Lightening Solution is tattooed into the area of the unwanted permanent makeup, microblading or body tattoo procedure by using conventional tattoo methods. When this product is soaked into the skin, the natural effect of Osmosis begins to take place. What's great is that Li-FT is a hypertonic solution, therefore it contains a higher amount of salt than the body contains. This enacts the process of Osmosis which starts to move the pigment upward to the outer surface of the skin which then is removed by the skins natural healing process.
In addition to the natural power of salt and the Osmosis process, Li Pigments strategically selected both lemon seed and orange seed extract for this product for powerful fading and exfoliation properties. With all this natural power, Li-FT remains gentle to the skin and to ensure good healing and the integrity of the skin by adding Aloe Barbadense and Calendula Extract.

Salt will remove the pigment. No excessive activity (working out, sauna, gardening, anything that will cause you to sweat)
Any type of friction or UV ray exposure can cause serious fading. It is best to extra mindful for the first 3 months.
Do not pick at your tattoo. It will cause major fading and may even lead to skin damage.
